Fit for Future
During fit for future we learnt all about nutrition, food chains, skeletons and muscles. We really enjoyed measuring each other and finding out who had the longest femur and investigated whether this affected our jump.
Investigating Living Things
As part of this project we have been classifying and developing our understanding of the different species within the two main sub categories of living things - Vertebrates and Invertebrates. We have explored our environment, created classification keys and have used all of our knowledge to create our own interactive booklet.
We also carried out an investigation to see how birds keep warm.
Rocks
As part of this project, the children have continued to investigate rocks; classifying them into three different types from their properties. They have researched to find out about the different types of weathering that can force rocks to change over time through the use of pattern seeking. The children have then embedded this knowledge to understand what fossils are and where they come from. We will now be moving onto our next project which is Electricity. The children have begun to look at what electricity is and the ways in which we use it safely in our daily lives.
