School Meals and Healthy Snack

School Meals at Blackrod Primary 

Children are able to select their School lunch when they come into class at the start of the day. There are pictures to help them make their choices. Dietary requirements stored on your child's records allows the system to provide them with choices that meet their dietary requirements. 

Children in Picasso, Milhazes, Van Gogh and Gauguin classes are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals, a scheme which provides funding for schools to offer free school meals to children in Reception, Year 1 and  Year 2. (See Link below for further information) 

When children move to Key Stage 2 (Kahlo-Mackintosh classes), school meals are to be paid for by parents. (See link below for further information) 

School meals will be charged to your Parent Pay account

Free School Meals 

Families may be entitled to receive income related free school meals. If you wish to apply for these, please follow the link below. 

Packed Lunches 

If you wish to provide your child with a packed lunch, please notify the school office expressing your intention to do so. When transferring from school meals to packed lunches or vice versa, please give one weeks notice. Telephone the office 01204333488 or email office@blackrod.bolton.sch.uk

We ask that children are provided with a healthy and nutritionally balanced packed lunch. For health and safety reasons, children must not have flasks/insulated containers which contain warm food.

Packed lunches must be sent to school in a secure container or lunch box.
