Primary and Community Careers Fair

We are interested in speaking to businesses who would like to be part of a primary careers fair dates to be confirmed. This fair will present the opportunity to share insight from industry and business with primary school children aged 9-11 years of age, their families, and members of the local community.

Career-related learning in primary schools is about helping children to understand who they could become and helping them to develop a healthy sense of self that will enable them to reach their full potential. For businesses, it is useful to engage with children at such an early age to give them an awareness of both your field, qualifications that are required and the opportunities that you may have in the future so that they can aim towards them.

However, we have also recognised the recruitment challenges that businesses are facing at present and as a school which is at the heart of its local community we want to act as a conduit between business and the local community helping you to fill any vacancies you have in the local area. At BYB@Blackrod we have recognised that coming together with businesses is a vital way that we can help to foster in children and our wider community a motivation and aspiration for the future.  Through the session you will have the opportunity to talk to children, parents, families and members of the Blackrod community to share with them your business, your job and what you do  and share local recruitment opportunities that may be available.

We invite local companies and organisations to participate hence this will also be a perfect forum for the exchange of ideas and thoughts.

If you would like to register your interest to be involved please email to confirm your interest to BYB@blackrod.bolton.sch.uk
