Place Value

In place value we have been working hard to understand and represent numbers to 10 or 100. We have been finding one more, one less and using < > and = to compare numbers. We have used base 10, bead string and place value counters to support us. In Year 2 we have also been looking at partitioning numbers up to 100.

In Maths we have been working on number sequences, counting forwards and backwards from a given number. The children have been exploring number bonds to 10 identifying missing numbers band creating their own.

We have also been creating equal groups, an introduction to multiplication. We have explored different ways we can describe groups and how we can find the total.
